Franc Palaia

FRANC PALAIA is a versatile multi-media artist and works professionally as a painter, photographer, muralist, sculptor, lamp designer, book artist, independent curator and educator. His encyclopedic resume includes over 300 group exhibitions and over 40 solo shows, regional, national and international.

Since the mid seventies, Franc has worked, assisted and collaborated with many internationally celebrated artists such as; Salvador Dali, Annie Leibovitz, Robert Wilson, Crash, Daze, Richard Hambleton, William Pope.L.and commissioned by Jean-Michel Basquiat. Palaia’s works are included in dozens of public and private collections including the Museum of Modern Art, Fundacio Dali-Gala, Spain, Johnson & Johnson’s, McDonald’s Corp., Newark Museum, Polaroid Corp. ,Kean University of NJ, University of Cincinnati, the Poughkeepsie Journal, author Oscar Hijuelos, Senator Frank Lautenburg, and singer Diana Ross, to name a few.

Franc was producer and host of his Time Warner Cable and Cablevision Television program on the visual arts called ARTS FOCUS, (2007-2010) . Francs photographs are featured in two recent films, Shadowman by Oren Jacoby on the life of street artist Richard Hambleton and “Deal for Real, Teenage years of Jean- Michel Basquiat “ by Sara Driver, both screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, NY in 2017 and 2018.
